Tax Deferred Annuity
Deferred tax income are protected transferable IRAs tax free?
You have given me no details, but I'll answer this as best can. If income tax is currently protected in an IRA, then yes, you can transfer the IRA income in another IRA with no tax impact. However, if is that an annuity purchased outside of an IRA, then you really can not transfer income in the IRA (remember, you have limitations on how much can contribute to an IRA during the year of $ 4,000 for most people, $ 5,000 for those over 50 and you must be at least as much on wages or employment income). Just as an aside, there is no good reason for a tax shelter investment (income) within a tax-sheltered investments (IRA). There is simply no good fiscal sense to have a tax shelter tax shelter.
